While “Greenways” is in our name and our heritage, our work today goes far beyond pushing for traffic-calmed residential streets!
Here is a sampling of what Central Seattle Greenways has been up to recently:
- Bailey Gatzert Elementary – Safe Routes to School (ongoing)
- Pike/Pine protected bike lanes and Pike/Pine Renaissance project (ongoing)
- Improvements to pedestrian safety on Olive Way (ongoing)
- Improvements to bike infrastructure on 12th Ave (ongoing)
- Central Area Stay Healthy Streets (ongoing)
- Supporting the Garfield Super Block (ongoing)
- Convening a working group to reevaluate King County’s bike helmet law
- Basic Bike Network
- SR-520 & Portage Bay Bridge facilities
- Melrose Promenade (2021 update)
- Central Ridge Neighborhood Greenway
Additionally, we are involved in a few annual events:
- Tabling for Bike Everywhere Day
- Contributing to the Seattle Solidarity Budget
- Participating in MLK Day workshops held at Garfield High School (or virtually, during the COVID-19 pandemic)
